Our Story
the journey
After we graduated from university, we knew we didn’t want the classic everyday “nine to five” routine. We wanted to be free (like birds) and experience something else before starting our “real working life”. So we sold all the unnecessary things we had, took our savings, packed our backpacks and started our adventure around the world. We had neither a plan nor a destination, we just wanted to discover the places we had always dreamed of... without rules or obligations.
THE GIN
Since we have always been passionate about gin and exciting flavours from around the globe, we came up with the idea of creating our own gin, inspired by our travels and adventures. The concept: German handmade quality, combined with the best ingredients from all over the world. With our brand BIRDS, we didn’t just want to leave a lasting mark on the craft movement, but also to create our own community with people who share a passion for travel, adventure and enjoyment and want to constantly broaden their horizons. This is how our hashtag #wearebirds was born!
TAKE-OFF
After countless months with lots of drinks and barely any sleep, we presented our brand BIRDS for the first time in October 2015. In front of a professional audience at the Bar Convent Berlin, our passion finally turned turned into a life project.
