Background

During our trip around the world we had great experiences, but also saw a lot of poverty in some countries. Climate change has reinforced the entrapment of poverty in these countries. Many people are no longer able to work in their fields due to persistent drought and have to move into the city where they try to feed their families under poor working conditions or even in slavery.

WHY EDEN?

To address these problems we have decided to support the non-profit organization Eden Reforestation Projects. These projects aim to employ local farmers to plant local tree species. Through this, we would commit not only to restoring the forests but also the livelihoods of the people.

THE ADDED VALUE

With the help of the organisation, local farmers receive fair payment and can pursue vocation again, as many have lost their jobs due to the increasingly prolonged drought. In addition, the planting of more than 300 million trees so far helps to protect and sustain the environment. As trees are essential for purifying water sources and controlling floods and, of course, provide habitat for animals. This minimizes the problems caused by the destruction of healthy forest systems.
